"MICAP's
mission is to bring help to children, youths and adults, especially
those who may be or have been harmed by alcohol or other impairing
drugs."
The cost of
alcohol-related problems in the American society reaches nearly $150
billion per year. Michigan's expense is nearly $5.5 billion,
which means that for every man, woman, and child in the state, society
pays over $600 per person.
Through
education, awareness, lobbying pressure, and prevention, MICAP sees an
optimistic trend in attitudes toward alcohol and drug-related social
problems.
