President
Tom joined the MICAP Board in 2024, bringing with him new ideas for growing and expanding our community impact.
Rev. William J. Amundsen
Vice President
Reverend William (Bill) Amundsen spent his career as a pastor with the Michigan Conference of the United Methodist Church. He is now retired and enjoys staying active within his church community.
Eileen Ellis
Secretary
Eileen is a musician and volunteers with several organizations. She is retired from consulting on health care financing.
Mike Tobias
Treasurer
Mike is the Coordinator for the Michigan Coalition to Reduce Underage Drinking (MCRUD) and has worked with the nonprofit Prevention Network since June 2010. In his spare time, he enjoys salmon fishing, camping, and spending time with his family.
Michael MacLaren
Immediate Past President
Michael MacLaren served as Executive Director of the Michigan Press Association for 26 years before retiring to care for his parents.

Dr. Jones is State Pastor Emeritus for the Church of God in Michigan.
John Lauve

Louise Montag
Louise has spent her career in the intersecting fields of prevention science, substance use disorders, and community development. She was previously the Executive Director for Prevention Network, a nonprofit also based in Lansing.
Vernon K. Smith, Ph.D.
Vern holds a Ph.D. in Economics from MSU and went on to have a distinguished career as the Michigan Medicaid Director. He currently works as a Senior Advisor specializing in publicly funded healthcare research.
