The Cynthia Abrams Award recognizes the extraordinary advocacy efforts of an individual on a state, local, or national level dedicated to reducing alcohol-related harms. The award was established in memory of Rev. Cynthia Abrams, former Board member of the U.S. Alcohol Policy Alliance. Cynthia was a passionate leader and tireless health advocate. She was a member of the Seneca Nation and was committed to changing systems that led to inequality and health disparities.

According to the U.S. Alcohol Policy Alliance, recipients of the Cynthia Abrams Award shall speak truth to power, push the envelope, and be willing to face an unlikely or unpopular change that would ultimately improve the lives and well-being of those around them. We are thrilled about Mike’s well-deserved recognition.

In his spare time, Mike enjoys salmon fishing, camping, and spending time with his family.
